Update August 2024
RWE has commenced with archaeological trial trenching to support the preparation of the planning application for Chapel Hill Solar Farm. Trial trenching is a survey method to better understand whether any archaeology is present below the soil and is very commonly undertaken to support planning applications for solar farms or other proposed developments. This process is overseen by the County Archaeologist at Worcestershire County Council. It is anticipated that the work will be undertaken on a parcel-by-parcel basis and will last approximately 11 weeks. This is however dependent on many different factors, such as the weather. RWE expects to have a planning application ready for submission to Malvern Hills District Council in the autumn of 2024. For any questions, please reach out to RWE directly on info@chapelhillsolarfarm.co.uk.
